Awards

  • The PETROBRAS Award for Technology seeks to recognize the contribution of the Brazilian academic community to the development of technology for PETROBRAS and for the national oil industry.

    In the 2006 edition of the award, the engineer Leonardo Guedes Monjellos Souza, SIMDUT employee since June 2005, won the award for best work on the category of graduation in Logistics Technology and Transportation of Oil and Gas Derivatives with the work "ROG pipeline optimization routine". The study aimed to determine operating conditions for compressors in pipelines in order to minimize fuel consumption. Matlab Optimization routines and advanced Microsoft Excel functions were used. The work was supervised by Professor Luis Fernando Azevedo and the engineer Luis Fernando Pires.
